Faithful God you formed your nation
Holy priests and people yours. In their trouble you remembered Cov’nant made with Abram’s born. Though the nation Egypt mighty, Slave born Israel took her stand. With your strong right hand you held them, Bringing hope in Egypt's land. While the heart of Pharaoh darkened Moses stood by your command. Many signs you worked in Egypt, Yet the king refused your plan. Pharaoh’s gods were called to answer, Met with mighty plagues they fell. Through your works they all were vanquished, Only Yahweh will prevail. Out of Egypt came your own son, Jesus Christ the spotless lamb. He’s the perfect final sacrifice, By his life and death we stand. Chorus: Faithful God you keep your covenant, praise to the great I am. Sovereign Lord you save your people, praise to the risen lamb.

The church Christ’s body stands united,
Jew and Gentile, all in one. Grace unmerited, given to sinners, Not by works that we have done. By his plan we’ve been adopted, God the Father, makes us his own. Sealed with Christ through God the Spirit, Heavenly prize one day we’ll know. Strangers to the covenant promise, Now in Christ we are brought near, Citizens of the holy kingdom, Gospel myst'ry is made clear. Putting off the deeds of darkness, In new life we walk by faith. Following our Lord’s example, Speaking truth in love through grace. With flesh and blood we do not battle, Our Lord's armor we must wear. Standing firm against the darkness, Vict'ry won through Word and prayer. This was my first experiment with song writing. From the dawn of time your glory
Is proclaimed through all the earth. Day to day the sun arises, Making known your priceless worth. On your life-sustaining power., We your creatures all depend. Teach us now to count our hours, Knowing life is in your hands. By your Word you birthed the heavens, By your Gospel we’re made whole. It's your truth that sanctifies us, Making saints from sinful souls. Help us Lord to see your glory Shown to us through Jesus Christ. He the radiance of your nature, Lamb of God, our sacrifice. Through your church your work continues, Glorious gospel to make known. Until every tribe and nation, Bow one day before your throne. Though our Lord is now ascended, By his people still he speaks, Making known the hope of glory, Saving all those who believe. Now we wait for our new Eden, Holy place where all is clean. Heaven and Earth shall be united Pain and death have lost their sting. On that day the sun will give way To the glorious light of God. You will dwell then with your people Curse reversed through Jesus's blood. By his word God made the world
And pronounced it good. Image bearing man he gave, The tree of life for food. Another tree stood as a test, Adam must obey. Would He serve the Lord his God Or disregard his way? The perfect home did not endure Sin would wreck their peace. The world forever changed that day, Enslaved no longer free. Another tree, a sacrifice A biding hope pronounced The serpent crushing one would come The Son of God announced Israel’s kings were fallen men, They never could obey. Was the promise lost for good, Or for another day? The prophets groaned, the people cried, The silence would not break. Invading armies took their land, Israel seemed unmade. A little town called Bethlehem Unlikely place of hope. Mary’s son through virgin birth, Born to save his own. Bound for the tree, yet there he lies The hope of nations rest. The weakness of a baby boy, The strength of humbleness. Jesus lived a sinless life, Yet died a sinners death On the tree he broke the curse, For our sins he bled. And on that tree he took the blame, For our sins he died, but death could not defeat the king, He rose to give us life. Much was lost at Adam’s fall More is gained through Christ. Adam’s sin brought death to us, Jesus gives us life. |
